Harry Potter Demand

NEW YORK (AP) -- J-K Rowling's U-S publisher is taking legal action against an online retailer and a distributor based in Illinois.

Rowling's seventh and final Potter book is officially scheduled for release on Saturday.

But Scholastic Incorporated says some people have received copies of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' through the mail.

Scholastic filed papers in Cook County Circuit Court yesterday accusing DeepDiscount-dot-com and Levy Home Entertainment of a "complete and flagrant violation of the agreements that they knew were part of the carefully constructed release of this eagerly awaited book."

Scholastic is seeking damages "to be determined."

Levy's director of product management declined to comment.
