An earthquake rocks the stateline early Monday morning. The brief earthquake was reported in parts of northern Illinois, northern Indiana and southern Wisconsin.
The U.S. Geologic Survey in Colorado reports that the quake measured 4.5 on the Richter scale. It measured around 2.2 in Rockford. The center of the earthquake was about eight miles northwest of Ottawa.
The quake, which lasted only about three seconds, occurred around 1 a.m.
No damage has been reported so far, but people in various areas say their windows rattled and pictures fell of the wall.
