Aurora has added more than 19,000 people during that period, an increase of 13.3 percent. The total population in Aurora is 162,184.
Eight of the nation's top ten fastest-growing large cities since 2000 are in the western United States. Cities in Arizona, Nevada and California saw the biggest gains.
A large city is one with a population of more than 100,000 people.
