Toll Roads Remain Option in Wisconsin

Business and legislative leaders are creating a task force to figure out how to pay for both roads and public transit. The options include electronically collected tolls.

Governor Doyle's transportation secretary made it clear during an all-day conference on financing transportation Tuesday that the governor remains firmly opposed to charging tolls.

Frank Busalacchi says, "Tolls are not an option."

The conference was sponsored by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce Association and about two-dozen other business, government, labor and environmental organizations.
