Obama Says Divorce Records Shouldn't Play Role in Campaign

The man they're both vying to replace in Washington agrees.

A California judge is expected soon to release some potentially embarrassing records from Ryan's 1995 divorce from television actress Jeri Ryan. The Ryan’s say unsealing the records will be harmful to their nine-year-old son.

Ryan's Democratic opponent Barack Obama says Monday that what's in the records doesn't matter to voters like issues such as job security. He says he will instead hammer Ryan for views that ignore the needs of working class families.

Retiring Sen. Peter Fitzgerald says he will stand up and campaign for Ryan and that anything negative will, quote, "roll off him like water off a duck's back."
