EPA Says "Cheesehead Sewer Water" Didn't Foul Chicago Beaches

The city of Milwaukee dumped more than four billion gallons of sewage in Lake Michigan during heavy rains last month. That prompted Chicago Mayor Richard Daley to blame Milwaukee for high bacteria levels in Chicago, which put a ban on swimming at several beaches.

Illinois Congressman Mark Kirk even accused Milwaukee of sending what he calls "cheesehead sewer water" toward Illinois.

EPA official Tom Skinner says there's no scientific evidence that Milwaukee's sewage dump is affecting Chicago's beaches, but Skinner says Milwaukee has "some serious problems they need to fix."
