Rockford Police say 23-year-old Robert Walker broke into a home at 1033 Woodlawn around midnight Sunday and fired several shots.

One person was home at the time and was not hurt but a pit bull was killed. Walker fled before taking anything. Police later stopped him in a car in the 2000 block of Main St.

Walker's charged with home invasion and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
