Alarming statistics are surfacing about kids abusing alcohol. Many underage teens are able to buy liquor at local stores.

Illinois State Police launched an alcohol countermeasure enforcement survey at 18 local liquor stores.

The purpose of the surveys was to see which establishments were selling alcohol to minors

State Police saw minors buy beer at three Love's Park stores including the Riverside Mobil Station and Clark Oil on North 2nd. Minors were also able to purchase alcohol at Hucks Convenience Food and Gas on Perryville.

Fifteen other area stores that were surveyed the same night did not sell liquor to minors.
