Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful's all-volunteer recycling center in Roscoe will be closed this Saturday, Jan. 30, due to extremely cold weather.
“As we are concerned for their safety, we close the center when the wind chill is below zero,” said Lori Gummow, executive director of Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful. “We also are concerned for the over 150 households that use our center on a weekly basis."
Residents can still bring their paper products and corrugated cardboard to Paper Recovery Service Corporation, 7972 Crest Hills Drive in Loves Park from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful’s Recycling Center is located on the frontage road one half-mile north of McCurry Road and Route 251 in Roscoe.
