A drunk driver fleeing police, that's what Rockford Police say led to a fiery two vehicle accident early this morning that killed a Rockford man.
34 year old Donald Parson's of Rockford is now charged with DUI, having a revoked license, attempting to flee, and eluding a police officer. 28 year old Cornelius Graham of Rockford was killed in the accident. It happened about 2 a.m. at the intersection of Alpine and Riverside.
Investigators say the victim was turning when his car was hit. Graham was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say they tried to stop Parsons at Alpine and Highcrest just before the fatal crash. Parsons fled when officers approached his car because of erratic driving and high speeds, police did not pursue per RPD policy.
