ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) -- A suburban Chicago man accused of killing his wife and three children remains in custody in Missouri, while authorities work to extradite him back to Illinois to face first-degree murder charges.
Christopher Vaughn of Oswego (Illinois) was arrested Saturday at a funeral home in suburban St. Louis just before a memorial service for his family.
The 32-year-old is jailed in St. Charles County, Missouri. And authorities say he could be in court as soon as today.
A spokeswoman says Governor Rod Blagojevich will immediately sign an extradition order once he gets it from prosecutors. Vaughn's attorney says his client plans to fight extradition.
The bodies of Kimberly Vaughn and the children were discovered in the an S-U-V in Will County after a wounded Vaughn flagged down a motorist.
