U.S. Justice Department officials filed indictments against nine people Tuesday.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jerry Wilson of Rockford has pleaded guilty to one drug charge and agreed to be a witness for the government. He says in his plea agreement that he sold up to five kilograms of cocaine a week, and alleges he got the drugs from the other defendants.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Keith Syfert says two Rockford-based drug trafficking organizations are responsible for distributing "staggering" amounts of drugs.
He says the alleged dealers used the drug money to buy houses and sports cars.
Officials say Wilson faces at least 20 years in prison.
