Breast Yard Sale

By  |

It's an annual yard sale that helps to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The “Breast Yard Sale” is unlike no other. Free bras are on the trees and used but new adorn the front yard, but the best-kept secret at this sale is not the Water bra; it's what's inside the boxes.

Last year, Maidenform donated 70 bras and undergarments. This year boxes and boxes were sent with about 1,000 items.

Karen Virnoch Brown gets support for this sale from strangers far and wide. Bras have come in the mail from Canada, Arizona, and Florida. For most women, this sale may be the perfect fit. From 32 A to 44 DDD, it's not size that matters at this sale. It's the message that counts the most.

Karen says we’re at a time when everyone knows someone with cancer, so instead of a receipt, informational flyers serve as the receipt to seal the deal.

The “Breast Yard Sale” is Saturday and Sunday in Oregon. Just go to 1194 Mud Creek Road and look for the women's lingerie. On Saturday, the yard sale takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. On Sunday it's from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
