You can see some shelves in the department's firearms office are scarce right now. They've waited since November to get bullets for certain handguns and rifles. They need that ammunition for officer training. Their supplier says a lot of merchandise is going to the U-S military right now in the Iraq War, leaving Freeport Police unsure about future practice drills. "Right now it's still in the works. I don't know what we're going to do. We don't have any ammo. We might have to substitute our training to more of tactics-based training," said Detective Steven Stovall. He says it could be at least another three months before new bullets arrive.
