A federal judge Tuesday overturned an earlier judge's decision to release Michael Breit into the custody of his mother and grandfather. Breit's release had been scheduled for Tuesday.
U.S. District Judge Philip Reinhard said he lacked confidence in Breit's family to control him.
Breit has been charged with one count of illegally receiving explosive material to make explosive devices and one count of receiving an explosive with the intent to use it to harm or injure a person or damage property.
Reinhard ordered Breit held in the Ogle County Jail pending trial. Parties are due back in court June 10.
