Shop-N-Go Armed Robbery

It's been a tense night for a Rockford storeowner and customer.

Armed robbers hit the shop and go convenience store at 17th and Kishwaukee around 7:30 Tuesday night. According to Rockford Police, the robber showed the storeowner a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. Money was handed over and the man escaped into the night.

According to a witness, the robber appeared to be a 30-year-old black male, about 5’11”, and weighing around 200 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a hat, t-shirt, and blue jean shorts.

Police say because of the store's location, it has been a frequent robbery target.
