Christian rock band "Epiphany" and other local musicians are hoping to raise $2800 for Maya's House Daycare. Grace Lutheran Church hosted the concert benefit, which featured both traditional and modern versions of holiday tunes. Maya's House helps serve homeless families in the Rockford area as they work to get back on their feet.
"They come to us everyday from the most difficult of circumstances, and yet they are full of hope, and they're full of expectation. And for us to be able to meet that hope and expectation, it's more than heart-warming. It's life-affirming," says Christine Edlen-Korneski, Program Director for Shelter Care Maya's House.
Once Maya's House meets its goal, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans says it will match that $2800. If you want to help, contact Grace Lutheran Church of Loves Park.
