CHICAGO (AP) -- It's going to be a blustery day.
Weather officials are warning Illinois residents about strong winds expected to sweep through the state today.
A wind advisory will be in effect from ten a-m to seven p-m for most of the state, including the cities of Chicago, Rockford, Peoria, Bloomington, Champaign and surrounding areas.
The National Weather Service says gusts of up to 50 miles per hour are possible.
Because of the anticipated wind, the city of Chicago is asking people to be mindful around construction sites today.
The Department of Buildings says construction managers should make sure all equipment is secure.
High winds can also make driving difficult, so weather officials ask that drivers use extra caution.
