On the last day of school kids can sometimes get really batty, that was certainly true at one Freeport grade school today.
Students at Taylor Park Elementary spent the final day making bat houses which will be used to help get rid of mosquitoes and other bugs at the CMC Heartland site in Freeport which is a brown field site that has received federal money from the environmental protection agency to make a property more safe and less of an eyesore.
The students also planned on seeding grass and planting trees at the site but that was called off due to the wet weather.
