Human Remains Could Be Missing Truck Driver

The Boone County Sheriff's Department has new information on skeletal remains found last month.

Human bones were found near the Belvidere Oasis off I-90 on April 15.

Officials initially thought the remains were those of a white man, but a forensic anthropologist has concluded that the remains are of a black man over 50 years old.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, but officials don't suspect foul play. Police are investigating whether the remains are those of a man who disappeared several years ago.

In June 0f 2000, an abandoned dump truck was found in Beloit. The truck appeared to have run out of gas, but the personal belongings of the driver were found inside. The driver, 72-year-old James Clemons of New York, a black man, has never been found.
