MARSHFIELD, Wis. (AP) -- Logan Erickson is the Cal Ripken of Marshfield schools.
When he finished school last week, he put the finishing touches on quite the rare achievement -- 13 years of perfect attendance.
The 18-year-old says he's amazed that he was able to go over two-thousand consecutive school days without ever missing a day.
He says he didn't really try to plan it -- it more or less just happened.
Erickson says he did make a few adjustments, such as scheduling appointments outside of school, but he says never getting sick was more from luck than effort.
Guidance counselor Vera Marine says Erickson is the type of student who sets his mind to something and sees it through. She says he's certainly put his education first -- and she wishes more students would value being at school every day.
