NORMAL, Ill. (AP) -- Residents of an Illinois State University student apartment building met some new neighbors yesterday.
A family of ducks was discovered living in the 122-unit building.
Resident James Temple says he saw the mallard duck and her seven ducklings waddling down the hall.
Stacey Udoni says the family must have been hiding somewhere. The building has been mostly empty since earlier this month when I-S-U classes were dismissed for the summer.
Ryan Bevers of McClean County Animal Control was called to the building last night, and he shooed the family into a pet carrier without touching them.
He says the ducks will be released to a safe place.
