Hawthorne Says Goodbye

He's been a leader in Rockford when it comes violence prevention but now he's calling it quits. Ralph Hawthorne, the Executive Director of Ceasefire, is moving to Atlanta, Georgia.

Hawthorne has been with Ceasefire since 2004 and says he's proud of the work he has done. However, Hawthorne believes our community must continue to work together to fight back against violence.

Hawthorne also says he is confident in the skills and abilities of the other 6 employees of ceasefire

Ralph Hawthorne will be greatly missed. I hope that Ceasefire will get the funding to continue to operate in Rockford.

Good Luck to him. Now maybe priorities can be set straight in this 'program'. Many people have mixed feelings about a program constantly asking for money while they are driving around in a decked out new vehicle!!! Most of us in Rockford haven't EVER had a new one, yet we continue to help our charities and our community. Get a nice used vehicle and put the rest of the money towards funding the program.
