With Memorial Day right around the corner, Illinois officials are trying to raise funds for veterans. The new look of the veterans scratch off lottery ticket was unveiled today at the national guard armory in Machesney Park.
It's the first lottery ticket where 100% of proceeds go to supporting Illinois veterans grants. These grants are available to organizations that provide services to veterans like health insurance costs, disability benefits, and housing assistance.
The cash tickets have already raised 3 million for veteran funds and officials are encouraging organizations to apply for the available grants.
