The final vote to close the developmental wing of the Singer Clinic is in.
Although the developmental wing will close the mental health facility will remain open. The 150 patients in the closing wing will be relocated.
The state says it will pay for healthcare for those patients. About 51 employees are expected to be laid off and some will take early retirement and a few will be moved to a Dixon facility.
The state says this move will allow Singer to serve more patients in the mental health facility.
