Gas Prices Headed for Record High in Wisconsin

The AAA Wisconsin says the average price of unleaded is $1.91 cents.

Although at a Mobil station on Milwaukee's southside, unleaded has reached $1.99 Wednesday. AAAA spokesman Michael Bie says the state's all-time high of $1.95 was set in June 2000.

Bie says it's unlikely prices will go down anytime soon.

Several factors are pushing the price hikes. Those include an increase in the price of crude oil since the first of the year, increased demand worldwide and the annual change from winter stock to summer blend gas.

Wisconsin also has one of the highest gas taxes in the nation at 29.1 cents.
