Jan Kostner of the Illinois Bureau of Tourism says travel to Illinois should be up this year, and she credits part of that increase to an improving economy and better deals being offered.
Kostner says the trend is toward people taking more driving vacations and Illinois is well positioned for that.
Tourism officials say 83 million people visited Illinois in 2002.
