Curbing Violence In Our Area

Rockford Police are trying to curb the violence, especially around Rockford housing authority sites.

This afternoon, police met with residents of the Blackhawk Apartments. Police Chief Chet Epperson says he wants to partner with them to stop the drugs and shootings in the neighborhood.

Residents we talked to, say they welcome this partnership. At the meeting, they decided to form a neighborhood group that will meet monthly with police who patrol the area. Along with this partnership, police plan to beef up patrol in housing authority properties.

Maybe we shouldn't have accepted the occupants of Cabrini green in Chicago when they tore it down. They have brought their lifestyles here, to Rockford. Now look at this city.
