It wasn't long ago that 18 year old Bradley Berogen's family was planning for his high school graduation. Instead, they're planning his funeral. Berogen was shot and killed Friday night...by Wednesday, two suspects were in custody...a 14 year old and a 17 year old. Berogen's girlfriend is in shock.

"14 years old! I can't imagine it. I can't imagine holding a gun at 14 years old, I can't imagine it at 18, 19..."

Police Chief Epperson echoed those concerns in a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

"There are too many firearms, hand guns, in the city of Rockford. This is just an example of individuals who have no justification to have a firearm."

Others say the problem lies at home...

"...i believe guns don't kill people...people kill people," says Berogen's mother Diane. "If your parents aren't there, you're just gonna do what you want."
