Poll Shows Kerry Has Slight Lead Over Bush in Wisconsin

The poll has found that 46 percent of the respondents support Massachusetts Senator Kerry, and 40 percent support the president. Also, eight percent of the respondents say they support independent Ralph Nader, and three percent aren't sure.

The poll has also found that Bush's approval rating among Wisconsin adults has dropped to 45 percent. That's down from 54 percent a year ago, and 62 percent of respondents say the country is headed in the wrong direction.

The poll is sponsored by Wisconsin Public Radio and the Saint Norbert College Survey Center. It has a margin of error of plus or minus five percentage points.

Wisconsin is considered a battleground state for the presidential race. Four years ago, Bush lost the state to Democrat Al Gore by fewer than 6,000 votes.
