There could soon be a new facility for drug addicted teenage girls to turn to in Rockford.
Rockford's City Council is expected to give final approval to a new Rosecrance addiction treatment center tonight. The new outpatient center would be built on a 50 acre site Rosecrance already owns at University Drive and Rote Road. That is where the not for profit's 78 bed inpatient center and school is right now.
Rosecrance leaders plan to move patients to the new site from an outpatient center currently on 6Th Street and they would shut that center down. Rockford Alderman Doug Mark expects the new center to pass easily, it's already gotten unanimous committee approval.
