Rockford Police are investigating the city's fourth homicide of 2007, it's the fourth this month and the third on or near public housing property.
Rockford Police say a 33 year old man was shot to death early Sunday morning, they believe the violence may have started at the Blackhawk housing complex, the scene of four other shootings this month.
Shortly after 3:00 Sunday morning, police responded to a single car crash at Kishwaukee Street and Broadway they found a 33 year old man unconscious in the driver's seat, when paramedics began treating the victim they realized he had been shot once in the chest, he was rushed to the hospital, but there pronounced dead.
Police say witnesses saw the man speeding away from the Blackhawk housing complex just before the crash, they believe he was shot in that area, police plan to meet with the Rockford housing authority to discuss the recent string of violence on RHA property.
Residents say enough is enough. Police are not releasing the victim's name and they have no suspects yet.
Meanwhile, family and friends are grieving the loss of 18 year old Bradley Berogan, he was shot to death Friday night, those close to him are left struggling to cope and looking for answers.
