CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago police say it took cleanup workers more than nine hours to get all the cheese off the Chicago Skyway after a weekend truck accident.
A semi hauling a large quantity of mozzarella jackknifed and overturned after being cut off by a car early yesterday morning in the Skyway's southeast-bound lanes. The rig's trailer broke in half in the crash, spilling the cheese over the pavement.
Some of the cheese came out of its packaging, so it had to be picked up by hand.
Police say all lanes of traffic were closed southbound until 10:30 a.m., when one lane of traffic opened back up.
