As we've been telling you, the drought stricken west is in need of hay to help farmers feed their livestock. So, 23 News along with many local residents banded together to help those farmers in need.
Now, another local trucking company and driver have volunteered their time and resources to help deliver more hay. This truck is bound for Wyoming. The driver, Gary Hoffstead, says he heard about the need to ship hay across the country and pitched the idea to his employer. Now, thanks to Hoffstead, tons of hay is on its way to those in need. The driver says it’s the right thing to do.
Several farmers have already benefited from the Midwest hay, and we here at 23 News want to say thank you for helping out.
