Illinois Jobless Rate Hits 11%
The number of laid off workers in Illinois is on the rise.

Unemployment in Illinois hit 11% last month, that's the highest level since 1983. That's up from 10.5% in September, and from 6.8% at this time last year.
State officials say even though Illinois is losing jobs, it is at a slower rate.
Meantime, up in Wisconsin, unemployment reached its lowest point this year. Last month it hit 7.6%, that's down from 10.8% a year ago.
