Tomorrow is a big day for our local election offices and many poll workers spent today getting ready.
In Rockford, election judges spent much of the morning picking up all of their materials and taking them to the cities 74 polling places. Many residents also took advantage of last minute absentee voting privileges. Of course, similar activities took place throughout the stateline.
Help is on the way to help Rockford and other local government pay some of the costs of the labor day flooding.
Illinois is doling out $160,000 to assist. The money will help with clean up and overtime expenses.
The city of Rockford will get the bulk of the funds, more than $148,000.
Rockford Township and Winnebago County will also get money.
