Rockford Police had string of crimes to deal with Sunday night into Monday morning. The first happened at about 8:50 p.m. at the Walgreens on Charles and 20th. Police say a suspect entered the store punched the clerk, claimed he had a gun and demanded money. No weapon was actually shown and no suspects are in custody. The next incident happened about ten minutes later around 9:00 p.m. at the road ranger in the 5300 block of E. State St. The suspect threatened the clerk with a screw driver and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. No suspect is in custody for this incident either, but police do have a suspect in custody for a burglary at the rescue mission in the 1400 block of Kishwaukee St. police say the man tried to steal items from the thrift store about 1:10 a.m. this morning but was arrested on scene.
