ROCKFORD (WIFR) – The Rockford Public School District heads back to class in one week and some elementary students will see new leadership.
Seven elementary schools will have different principals, one of those is at Lewis Lemon. The changes come after two retirements, four promotions, and some voluntary internal switches to different positions. District leaders say there are always challenges that come with a new principal.
“However I think with staff embracing principals and principals embracing staff members, it becomes very natural transition. They have to get to know each other and usually principals enter that first week of school just getting to know staff, students.”
Kids in District 205 head back August 25.
