The facility would be built in Shabbona. Opponents are frantically fighting to delay negotiations.
Today in Sycamore, state legislators Brad Burzynski and Robert Pritchard raised concerns there hasn't been a public hearing on what they called a 24-7 electronic bingo hall. It would be on land bought by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation in last year.
The legislators argue state law requires public hearings for Indian gaming they also say there's been no legal determination if the tribe can operate on the land.
The pair is demanding before those details are figured out, any negotiations should stop. Right now, we have been unable to get a response to these statement from the tribe.
