Dr. Michael Delaney says four or five busloads of doctors will leave from Carbondale. More than 200 doctors are expected to attend the rally.
Delaney says the doctors aren't heading to Springfield to promote a specific solution to the problem. Instead, he says, they're simply there to encourage lawmakers to act on an issue that's important to Illinois residents.
Sen. Dave Luechtefeld says lawmakers are already working on the issue but solving it won't be easy.
Luechtefeld is one of several legislators who have proposed bills designed to curb the high costs of medical malpractice insurance for Illinois doctors.
