Members of the Fraternal Order of Police agreed to give up their contracted three percent wage increases in 2010, to help balance a budget facing about a million dollar shortfall.
The wage freeze saves about $700,000, 10 full time and eight part time jobs.
Employees were scheduled to be laid off if the budget impasse continued.
