The 20-year-old University of Wisconsin-Madison student was charged today with two misdemeanor counts for allegedly obstructing officer.
Each charge carries a jail sentence of up to nine months and a maximum fine of $10,000. Authorities say her first court appearance is set for tomorrow morning, but her attorney would appear on her behalf.
Seiler disappeared for four days last month, before she was found to be safe. She told Madison police she was abducted by a man with a knife and a gun, but police concluded her story was fake.
Her claim touched off a major manhunt in the area, which authorities say cost about $96,000. Seiler is back at home in Rockford, Minnesota, after receiving medical care. A message left at her home wasn't immediately returned.
