Revenue Estimates off Significantly for Some State Fee Increases

An Associated Press analysis finds the new money could come up short by $100 million or more. Here are two examples:

A $47 increase for new personalized license plates and an $8 increase for renewals was supposed to bring in $19 million. The secretary of state's office now estimates they will raise just $2.7 million by July 1.

The governor's budget office says a delay in Illinois' capital construction program reduced revenue from a state administration fee. Because of that, an estimated $3.5 million increase is now on pace to bring in $2.6 million less than last year, a $6 million difference.
