Church Ravaged by Fire to Be Built on Different Site

A Sycamore church destroyed by fire last month will not be built on its former site.

Fire gutted St. John's Lutheran Church on February 9, injuring two firefighters. Members of the congregation voted Sunday night not to reconstruct the church on South Main Street, its home for more than a 120 years.

Church members decided to form a building and planning committee to look for a new site. Another meeting will be held Monday night on the issue.
