Chicago fire officials say 18 people suffered minor injuries after a commuter train accident near the Ogilvie Transportation Center in downtown Chicago.
Metra executive Rick Tidwell says a locomotive bumped into the side of an outbound train that was carrying about 40 people on Metra's northwest line to Crystal Lake. Tidwell says Metra is investigating what went wrong.
Fire Chief Dennis Gault says at least one Metra employee was among those taken to hospitals and several passengers refused treatment.
Authorities say most of the injuries were bumps and contusions. Most of the passengers walked out on their own, but four people were taken out on stretchers.
