There just may be no substitute for good parenting. A US government study just released shows children who got more parenting and higher quality child care scored better on vocabulary tests.
However, the study says the more time kids spent in child care the more likely they were to have behavior problems by the time they reached 6th grade.
Researchers say attention from parents rather than daycare or schooling is far more important to how a child turns out.
