Historic Planes Land in Rockford

By  |

Two planes from history landed at the greater Rockford airport Tuesday afternoon.

A B-24 liberator and B-17 bomber, both stalwarts in the air battles of World War II, are visiting Rockford as part of the Callings Foundation's Wings of Freedom Tour.

The foundation dedicates itself to preserving the machines that helped build our world and make it free.

You can tour the planes for $7 for adults, $3 for kids 12 and under. For a 30-minute ride, it's $350 and its tax deductible.
