Brother and Sister Charged in Shooting by School

Rockford police make an arrest in the shooting that occurred near Lewis Lemon Elementary School on Tuesday.

Twenty-year-old Shandia Marquee Tinnie and her 22-year-old brother Christopher Jermaine Tinnie have both been charged in the incident.

Police arrived at the 300 block of North Independence shortly after noon on Tuesday, in response to reports of shots being fired following a fender bender. The shooting happened while kids at Lewis Lemon School were at recess just a few hundred feet away.

Shandia is charged with unlawful sale of a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm and Christopher is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, destroying evidence and unlawful possession of a firearm.
