It's an all too familiar story for stateline area workers, companies downsizing, laying off or moving out of the area.
This leaves hundreds of skilled workers out on the unemployment line searching for work, but money from the state is coming.
Gov. Blagojevich announced that $170,000 is coming to the stateline area. It's part of his Opportunity Returns plan to help workers acquire new skills.
The money goes towards two workforce investment boards that are partnering together to help get workers back on the job with new skills.
