Numbers Exceed Expectations

There is some good news for manufacturers. The demand for durable goods exceeded expectations for February.

The Commerce Department reports orders for these big-ticket goods rebounded last month. The two and a half percent jump is the largest since October.

Demand for transportation equipment is the main cause for the upsurge. Orders for those goods increased by nearly 10 percent in February.

Durable goods are those manufactured products expected to last at least three years.
